Have you ever thought about the beautiful gifts that have been given to you? Life is full of them and so often we don't see them, or we take them for granted, or saddest of all, we don't accept them. I think that sometimes we get it into our heads that we don't deserve the gifts. And yet, that is why it is called a gift. Sometimes we are handed something beautiful and we get scared. We are afraid that it might get taken back or perhaps we aren't worthy of something so precious. And yet, God is sitting there saying, "Beloved, the gift is for you, accept it. I delight in blessing you." God loves you, do you realize that? He has given us the gift of joy, and the ability to see the beauty all around us. A lazy summer day, the joy of being in love, a gentle rain that refreshes the earth and bull frogs singing at night; there is a gift in each of these, and it is your choice whether to accept it or not. You can choose to say, "No, I don't deserve it." Or, "No, I'm just not good enough." But that is not how gifts work, they are simply free. God's waiting for you to take the gift. So let go, take a leap of faith and discover the joy that is waiting for you.
"There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." --Albert Einstein
